Spend your mornings painting 'on location' with one of Boston's
finest painters exploring and working in and around the ancient
walled city of Tuscania.

Spend your mornings shooting slides on site in and around the town
of Tuscania learning the how to's from an American photography instructor

In this week you will participate in cooking demonstrations from
a minimum of three chefs, all renowned in the area of Lake Bolsena
for their skills. We will talk about the history and traditions
of Italian foods. In addition, you will learn some of the secrets
of wine and food matching interspersed with vineyard and wine cellar
tours, visits to local produce markets, and enjoy a number of delectable
meals at local trattorias (giving us an excuse to tour this beautiful
countryside as well). You will end this program by gathering your
recipes and with your own homemade preserves in hand.

personalized travel experience in rustic Italy, limited to only
twelve participants per session, includes:

Vista Photography Syllabus
Day
1
Sunday evening - a brief orientation. Schedule of Morning Classes
Day 2
Explanation of the use of a 35mm camera- shutter speed, aperture,
light meters, film speeds and exposure. Going out to shoot in the
field, getting comfortable with using the camera.
Day 3
Looking at slides to make sure students are getting proper exposures.
Shooting photos.
Day 4
Discussion of composition, light, mood in photos. Exploration of
what students are hoping to capture in their images. Ideas about
how to go about getting what they want. Shooting photos.
Day 5
Looking at slides, editing pictures. Shooting photos.
Day 6
Final edit of slides, critiques. It is assumed that students will
want to spend more time in the afternoons taking photos in some
of the places we will visit.
Equipment Requirements
A 35mm camera with manual control capability, a light meter (either
in the camera or hand held), a tripod, shutter release, 20 rolls
each of 200 and 400 speed slide film.
